Small Tricks For PC


Remove Recycle Bin From Desktop
a. Go to Start.
b. click on Run.
c. write gpedit.msc on blank box.
d. click on User Configurations .
e. click on Administrative Templates.
F. click on Desktop.
g. double click on “Remove Recycle Bin icon from desktop.”
h. check Enabled Dialog Box.
i. Refresh.



Speed Up Your Broadband Connection
a. Cl!ck Start then Run and type " gpedit.msc" without quotes.This opens the group policy editor.
b. Then go to: Local Computer Policy then Computer Configuration then Administrative Templates
c. Then Network then QOS Packet Scheduler and then to Limit Reservable Bandwidth.
d. Double cl!ck on Limit Reservable bandwidth. It will say it is not configured, but the truth is "By default, the Packet Scheduler limits the system to 20 percent of the bandwidth of a connection 
e. But you can use this setting to override the default."
f. So the trick is to ENABLE reservable bandwidth, then set it to ZERO. This will allow the system to reserve nothing, rather than the default 20%.It works on Win 2000 as well.



Icons with Noname
a. Make sure NumLock is on
b. Highlight the Icon you want to change
c. Right-Mouse click and select Rename
d. While holding down the Alt key, type 0160
e. Now the icon will have no name below it.


Change AM PM to Anything
a. Open the RegEdit and navigate to the following registry key: KEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\International.
b. Add two new String values, "s1159" and "s2359".
c. Most probably those keys will be already present. If it is not there then create them. 
Right click the value name and modify. Enter anything you like up to 8 characters. If you enter two different values when modifying, you can have the system tray display the two different values in the AM and PM.



Improve System Cache
a. Open registry by going to START-RUN and entering regedit. 
b. Navigate to the registry key
c. that is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SessionManager \MemoryManagement . 
d. Look for value of "LargeSystemCache". If available, do one of the following: 
e. If the computer is a workstation, set its value to 0. If it is a server set a value of 1.
